These templates, per month
These are Meta’s rates, not ours, and Meta can change them whenever it likes. Your subscription is separate.
The three categories
The price depends on why you are writing.
Meta does not care how long the message is: it looks at what it is for.
Marketing
Hi Marta, this week we have 20% off the whole winter collection. Shall I put something aside for you?
Promotions, offers, launches and anything meant to sell.
Utility
Your order 4471 ships today. It arrives Thursday before 2 pm.
Confirmations, shipping, appointments and updates on something the customer already asked for.
Authentication
482913 is your access code. Do not share it with anyone.
One-time codes to log in or confirm an operation.
You pick it when you create the template
And with it you pick the rate, so an order update sent as marketing costs you more for no reason.
And Meta can change it
If a review finds a template is promoting something, it moves to marketing and is charged as such from then on.
The 24-hour window
When they write, a door opens.
For the next 24 hours you can reply with whatever you like, no template needed.
- Inside: reply with text, photos, voice notes or whatever you need.
- Inside: you can also send a template if that suits you.
- Outside: only a Meta-approved template gets through.
Every message of theirs resets it
The clock starts again every time the customer writes, so a live conversation never gets cut off.
Once closed, you have to knock
After 24 hours you can no longer write freely: to pick the thread back up you need an approved template.

Replying is charged too.
Since October 2026, each number has 1,000 free service messages per month. Meta’s rates apply after that; utility templates are also charged within the window.

Inside the window you paid nothing
- Replying inside the window was not charged.
- Nor is a utility template inside the window.
- Marketing and authentication are always charged.
From 1 October 2026
Inside the window you pay too
- Service messages are charged after the free monthly allowance.
- And so does a utility template inside the window.
- Marketing and authentication stay exactly as they were.
At the utility rate
After the first 1,000 service messages of the month, the recipient’s country rate applies. Unused allowance does not roll over.
The window still matters
Inside, no template needed. Outside, only an approved one, and marketing templates cost the most.
From the app, still free
With the number in coexistence, Meta does not charge what you send from the WhatsApp Business app.

The figure above is Meta’s. Ours is a flat monthly fee and does not depend on how much you write.

Questions
What Meta’s table does not tell you.
What if my country is not on the list?
It gets its region’s rate, and if the region is not published either, the “Other” rate. The calculator sorts that out on its own when you pick the country.
Where do these prices come from?
From Meta’s official list, which we read every time the server starts. If Meta changes it, this page changes with it.
Does Meta charge me or does it charge you?
You, directly and through your own payment method at Meta. We do not put messages on your invoice and we do not mark them up.
Is the PulpoChat price included?
No. The calculator only counts what Meta charges for templates. Your subscription is separate and is a flat price per number.
Can I spend less on templates?
Yes: answering inside the 24-hour window means you need far fewer. Anything that makes them write to you first helps, like a chat button on your site.
We do not charge per message.
